Katie Dunwell was elected to the Wilsonville City Council in November 2022. Prior to election, she served on the City’s Development Review Board. She also has experience on both non-profit and corporate boards.
She currently serves as the Council’s representative on the French Prairie Forum Local Governments Working Group, Willamette Falls & Landing Heritage Area Coalition, Willamette Intake Facilities Commission, Washington County Coordinating Committee and the Positive Aurora Airport Management Group.
Katie brings extensive corporate and business expertise to Council, currently serving as Brand Manager/Analyst with Vonage Business, a global digital communications company.
Previously, in 2016, she was recruited by Amazon and AWS where she served as a Marketing Manager and Digital Strategist; there she led a digital marketing team and managed a multi-million dollar budget.
Her professional background includes various roles, including Vice President of Marketing, at VIS, a global staffing and technology consulting firm. She has also served as a partner in a boutique investment bank specializing in the natural food industry. She served on the Board of SiouxPreme Packing Co.,and Cybus Capital Advisors Private Equity Group. During that time, she served on due diligence teams for both private equity and mergers and acquisitions transactions.
Katie received her B.A. (English) from Portland State University. Alongside her husband Jim, Katie has lived in the Pacific NW for more than 20 years. She was raised in western South Dakota near the Pine Ridge Reservation and is an enrolled tribal member of the Oneida Nation.
Katie will tell you that her best life includes trips to the Oregon high desert in the summer and dogsledding in northern Alaska in December – a perfect balance.
