Urban Renewal Task Force

The purpose of urban renewal is to stimulate economic development through private investment in a specific area of the community. Tax increment financing, as allowed by ORS Chapter 457, is used in blighted areas where private development has stagnated or is not feasible. Public funds are needed to change those conditions and catalyze development.

The types of urban renewal activities undertaken generally include land assembly, development of infrastructure, and public amenities such as streets, utility lines lighting, public open spaces, and parks.

The City convenes a volunteer task force to advise the City on when and how to use urban renewal. The Urban Renewal Task Force (URTF) makes recommendations to City Council.  This group meets on an ad hoc basis as need and circumstances dictate—not on a regular schedule.

Please visit the City's Meeting web page to access meeting agendas, packets and minutes.

The URTF brings together residents, as well as stakeholders from the business and development community—members of the Wilsonville City Council, Brokers and Developers, Business/Property Owners, Taxing Districts, Community and Business Advocacy Groups, and Staff/Consultants.
