February 16, 2021 — Beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 17, the City is inviting Wilsonville residents and business operators to dispose of trees, limbs and woody debris at no charge.

Free disposal of tree waste is being permitted daily from 8 am to 5 pm at the Wilsonville Transit Center, accessible via Barber St., between Kinsman Rd. and Boberg Rd. Only fallen trees, limbs and woody debris will be accepted, and materials may only be dropped off between 8 am-5 pm. Proof of residence (driver’s license with Wilsonville address or utility bill) is required.

Because of the continued threat of COVID-19 transmission, the federal government requires proper face coverings be worn at the Transit Center. In addition, the City is requiring that vehicle occupants unload all items brought for disposal and maintain social distancing guidelines.

Service organizations and good Samaritans with hauling capacity are encouraged to assist friends, neighbors and community members with the disposal of these materials.  The drop-off site will remain open until 5 pm on Thursday, Feb. 25, to allow community members sufficient time to clear debris piles.

The City’s Public Works and Park Maintenance staff have been clearing public roadways and sidewalks since Saturday. Today, work  continues to remove hazardous limbs on arterial roadways and other areas. Parks, trails and green spaces remain closed until hazardous limbs and debris is removed.

Residents and business operators are responsible for the removal of all debris on private property, including street trees. Blowing or sweeping materials into public roadways is prohibited.

For residents who intend to hire tree or limb removal services, it is highly recommended that only licensed contractors who are bonded and insured be used.

Before beginning tree removal, the City requests that residents and business operators comply with tree removal information posted on the City’s website
