@ 12:15: With the reopening, moments ago, of the Boeckman Dip and a portion of Canyon Creek Rd.,  all major roadways are open in  Wilsonville.

@ noon:  Please note the following as you are addressing the removal of debris from property.

  • The City is removing debris located in public right-of-ways, including sidewalks and roadways.
  • Residents and business operators are responsible for the removal of all debris on private property, including street trees. Blowing or sweeping materials into public roadways is prohibited.
  • Residents with woody debris can place small limbs into yard waste bins for pickup by Republic Services.  The City is coordinating with Republic Services to identify drop-off locations so that residents may soon dispose of larger limbs and debris. The dates, times and locations are still to be determined.
  • Residents should check storm drains and remove any debris or blockages to avoid flooding as ice and snow continue to melt.
  • Property owners with damaged trees that pose a safety hazard may take removal actions. For residents who intend to hire tree or limb removal services, it is highly recommended that only licensed contractors who are bonded and insured be used. Work to remove trees should not occur until limbs are thawed and falling ice poses no safety threat.

@ 11:40 am:  While City facilities are closed in observance of Presidents Day, the hard work continues for our Public Works and Parks Maintenance staff to safely clear roadways of debris.  Additional work to remove hazardous limbs from City parks is to begin after all roadways are cleared. Until that time, City parks, trails and greenspaces are closed in the interest of public safety.

@ 9:25 am: SMART is in operation today, and dispatchers are in place for Dial-a-Ride customers who need to make critical trips (doctor appointments, etc.). To access the City's Dial-a-Ride service, call 503-682-7790.

@ 4:30 pm: A reminder that, as ice is melting in some areas, it may fall in large sheets or chunks from roofs and trees above. Please exercise caution to avoid injury; when possible, avoid walking directly underneath trees and rooftop edges.

@ 9:20 am:   City Manager Bryan Cosgrove declared a local State of Emergency on Saturday evening to allow the City to more effectively take action to alleviate the effects of snow and ice storms that have felled scores of trees and remain a significant threat to public safety. The action went into effect immediately and may be ratified by a resolution to be brought before the City Council at its next scheduled meeting on Thursday, Feb. 18.

@ 9 am: Residents and business owners suffering building damage from ice, snow and falling trees may temporarily secure their property without a building permit. Saturday, February 13

@ 8 pm: Some Wilsonville residents,  including the entire Charbonneau area, are among those in the region experiencing loss of electricity:

@ 11:55 am: Our clean-up crews ask that, in the interest of public safety, people avoid City parks and trails until debris is cleared and there is no further threat of additional falling trees or limbs.

@ 8:30 am: Overnight, severe weather has felled a significant number of Wilsonville trees and limbs, and damaged power lines. City crews have been working  throughout the night to improve roadways and move debris wherever possible for the safety of Wilsonville residents and commuters.

Avoid necessary travel, but if you are on City roads, please note the following:

  • The majority of the fallen trees and limbs cannot be moved from the roadway until they have thawed significantly and no longer present a danger to City crews. Crews are still responding, but are closing roads in most instances.
  • Because of sagging power lines and fallen trees, Canyon Creek Rd. is closed from Elligsen Rd. to Town Center Loop. (drivers can pass through at Boeckman Rd.) Local traffic is permitted but no traffic should pass under the Bonneville Power Authority corridor.
  • To report a fallen tree in a public roadway, call 866-252-3614.
  • When driving, please observe all road closures and detours, as failure to do so could jeopardize your safety as well as that of your neighbors and work crews.
