I-5 Bike/Ped Bridge Project Schedule

Designing the bridge and gateway plaza will take approximately 18 months. Construction would occur after design is complete and a funding source is identified. Major milestones include:

Project Launch. Public open house and online survey to identify project goals, design themes and elements.

Bridge and Plaza Concepts. Using the input gathered from the project launch, the project team will develop preliminary bridge and gateway plaza concepts to be reviewed by the public at the Community Block Party in August 2020 and through a follow-up online survey.

Recommended Design Concept. Using the input gathered on the preliminary concepts, the project team will develop a single recommended concept for public review.

Preliminary Design. The project team will develop the preliminary design (30 percent) for the bridge structure approaches and gateway plaza.

Final Design. Final design for all elements will be complete before the end of 2021.
