September 21, 2023 —Explore Wilsonville, the official tourism/destination-marketing program for the City of Wilsonville, has launched a newly-redesigned website at ExploreWilsonville.com.

The refreshed site features a user-friendly layout, compelling pictures of the region, and new curated travel itineraries to incentivize visitors to play and stay in Wilsonville.

“ExploreWilsonville.com’s vibrant new website is inviting and easy to use,” said Wilsonville Mayor Julie Fitzgerald. “The reimagined site beautifully showcases Wilsonville and provides a great recreational planning reference for visitors and residents alike.”

The new website highlights Explore Wilsonville’s new visual identity (new logo, fonts and colors) that reflects the program’s values and vision.  Explore Wilsonville’s marketing agency of record, JayRay, led the visual-identity process in conjunction with the City’s Tourism Promotion Committee.

Through research, polling and interviews, JayRay identified Explore Wilsonville’s brand themes and proposed a fresh new look centered around the tagline “In the heart of it all” — a reflection of Wilsonville’s well-placed location along I-5, situated between Portland and Salem in the North Willamette Valley wine county of French Prairie.

“The new ExploreWilsonville.com website is the most efficient way to discover local-area attractions, events, overnight lodging and fun day trips,” observed Zoe Mombert, staff liaison to the Tourism Promotion Committee. “It’s a great resource for new residents or those hosting visiting friends and relatives.”

The redesigned ExploreWilsonville.com features larger, brighter photos of local scenes and crisp, colorful graphics; improved accessibility; and a more user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing events calendar.

“Wedding planners and corporate event planners can use ExploreWilsonville.com to locate great venues and services to help plan memorable experiences,” Mombert said.

Day-trips for attractions in and around Wilsonville are built around themes, including arts and culture, dog-friendly fun, family fun, “Farmlandia,” History and Heritage, Instagram friendly spots, Oktoberfest, and wine country. Additionally four “best of Wilsonville” day trips showcase must-visit locations for each season. Visit ExploreWilsonville.com/itineraries and follow the hashtag #ExploreWilsonville to view itineraries.

The City’s Tourism Promotion Committee is a 12-member board composed of seven voting representatives from the greater Wilsonville-area tourism and hospitality industry and five ex-officio advisory members of professional tourism agencies, chamber of commerce, Parks & Recreation staff and a City Councilor committee liaison.

Explore Wilsonville is a non-membership, economic-development extension of the City funded by lodging-tax collections from overnight visitors. The program’s mission is to enhance Wilsonville’s economy through tourism marketing targeted at visitors from over 50 miles away; these visits generate lodging-tax revenues, increase meeting and event-related incomes for small businesses, and create jobs for residents.
