Building Division

Building InspectorWelcome to the City's Building Division!

Building Division staff are responsible for administering and enforcing the State adopted building, plumbing, and mechanical specialty codes, and providing all fire/life safety plan review and inspection services within the Wilsonville city limits.

Electrical permits and inspections within the City are conducted by Clackamas County.

Friendly, fast, fair & flexible customer service!

Plan reviews are subject to completion on a first-come, first-served basis. Despite the high demand, plan review for most single-family applications is processed within 2 weeks. Commercial and multi-family application processing time is dependent on the size and complexity of the project.

Once your application is processed and approved through Building, the plans will be routed to both the Planning and Engineering Divisions for compliance with land use and construction standards. After approval is given by all divisions, permit(s) will be issued and you may begin work. For a more detailed overview of the City’s development process see the Development Process Review Guidelines.

Plans ExaminerAutomated Inspection Request line is available 24 hours a day - 7 days a week. Customers may request inspections up to 3 days in advance, as well as check on the status of a recent inspection. Inspection line instructions are available online and will be included in your permit package.

Permit fees vary depending on the size and type of occupancy. System Development Charges (SDCs) generally account for a majority of your permit fee. The approximate SDC fee for the fiscal year 2009/10 for a single-family dwelling is $18,738.00. These fees may vary, and only when an actual application is submitted can the exact fees be determined.

Building permits and forms can be downloaded, filled out electronically, and faxed back. If you have any difficulty with this process, the Building Division will be happy to assist you. Please call or contact us via the information provided below:
