Villebois ConstructionWelcome to the City's Building Division!

Plan reviews are subject to completion on a first-come, first-served basis. Plan review for most single-family applications is processed within 2 weeks. Commercial and multi-family application processing time is dependent on the size and complexity of the project. When applying for a permit from the City, applicants are encouraged to stay in contact with the staff member reviewing their application.

After an application is processed and approved through Building, the plans will be routed to both the Planning and Engineering Divisions for compliance with land use and construction standards. After approval is given by all divisions, permit(s) will be issued and work may begin.

Once construction is under way, the contractor and developer are encouraged to set aside at least one or two meetings dates with City inspection staff to discuss the project occupancy schedule, expectations, and any special conditions associated with the project. Contractors/developers are encouraged to contact members of the Community Development staff, at any point in the project, when they have questions or concerns.

For a more detailed overview of the City’s development process see the Development Process Review Guidelines.

Inspection Request Line

Automated Inspection Request line is available 24 hours a day - 7 days a week. Customers may request inspections up to 3 days in advance, as well as check on the status of a recent inspection. Inspection line instructions are available online and will be included in your permit package.

System Development Charges (SDC)

Permit fees vary depending on the size and type of occupancy. System Development Charges generally account for a majority of your permit fee. The approximate SDC fee for the fiscal year 2011/12 for a single-family dwelling is $20,391.00. These fees may vary, and only when an actual application is submitted can the exact fees be determined.
