On February 24th, 2011, the Wilsonville City Council adopted a resolution incorporating a
Settlement Agreement between the City and Thunderbird Mobile Club L.L.C. In summary, the settlement agreement provides that if certain lending institutions approve of the settlement, and if a development application filed by Thunderbird concerning the southern portion of the former park site is issued, Thunderbird will pay $750,000.00 into a compensation fund. Claims for a portion of the fund can then be made by former tenants of the Thunderbird Mobile Home Park receiving notice of park closure and eviction in February, 2007.
Following completion of a search for forwarding addresses for these individuals, the city plans to send a letter advising of the settlement and eliciting certain information to assist in the claims process. Any potential claim will be subject to the deductions specified in the City’s Mobile Home Park Closure
Ordinances 600 and 603, including payments received by third parties. Upon the occurrence of the above-noted conditions precedent and the creation of the compensation fund, (which may occur by late summer), claim forms will be sent to all potential claimants.
Please see the link to the Settlement Agreement for more details. In the meantime, if anyone received the February 2007 notice of closure (or anyone knowing the whereabouts of such person), would call the Brenda Howe at 503-570-1561, to supply or confirm a current forwarding address, that would very helpful. Former tenants may also note that state tax credits associated with the closure are still available and contact with the state revenue department is recommended.
