Adopt-a-Road Sign

Adopt-a-Program:  gives businesses, families, service groups, and individuals a chance to take on and care for a specific area of town, whether is be a road or a trail.

Emergency Management:  this program is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities related to hazards, disasters, and emergencies.

Graffiti

Graffiti:  is vandalism and keeping control of it in a community requires everyone’s participation. The Wilsonville Police or Public Works employees take photographs of graffiti and maintain the information in a database to track occurrences and aid in the investigation and apprehension of suspects.

Industrial Pretreatment

Industrial Pretreatment:  the purpose of the Program is to prevent the introduction of harmful pollutants into the sewer system and improve opportunities to recycle or reclaim our sewer system’s wastewater and biosolids.

Parks Maintenance

Parks Maintenance:  maintains nearly 200 acres of developed and undeveloped park land, public right of way areas, including landscaping around all city owned facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, mowing, trimming, fertilizing and irrigating.

Stormwater Maintenance

Stormwater Maintenance:  Public Works manages both the quantity and quality of stormwater runoff, provides for adequate stormwater drainage, and helps protect the local stream habitats.  This includes maintenance of 6,300 storm structures, including inlets, outlets, and manholes, as well as 55 miles of stormwater pipes.

Streetlights

Streetlights:  The City owns and is responsible for over 1900 streetlights. Public Works manages the streetlight program, handling in-fill of new streetlights and coordinating with Portland General Electric (PGE) for maintenance of the poles and fixtures.

Streets

Streets:  Public Works is responsible for maintenance of all city-owned streets. Through funding provided by a road maintenance fee, Public Works has established a program that works hard to proactively address street maintenance issues before they become a burden to the public.

Tree City USA

Urban Forestry:  the City is committed to the practice of urban forestry which is the planning, establishment, and management of trees, plants, and landscaping in urban environments.  Since 1998, the City has participated in, and been recognized by, the Tree City, USA program.

WWTP

Wastewater Treatment:  Public Works oversees the operation of the Plant and maintenance of the sewer collection system, which consists of 60 miles of pipe, over 1400 sanitary sewer manholes and eight pumping stations.

Water

Water Treatment:  Public Works maintains over 80 miles of water transmission and distribution lines. In addition, they are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the City’s fire hydrants and water meters.
