Mayor Tim Knapp was appointed to the City Council in November 2003 to fill the unexpired term of John Helser who resigned his position. Councilor Knapp was elected in 2004. At the time of his appointment he was a member of the Development Review Board. Councilor Knapp has been involved in many city planning and public input forums. Alan Kirk was appointed to fill a vacancy on the City Council in August, 1997, and elected to his first four-year term in November, 1998. Councilor Kirk was re-elected in 2002 and 2006. At the time of his appointment, he had been serving on the Budget Committee for a little over a year. In addition, Councilor Kirk had chaired the city's Road Maintenance Task Force in the spring of 1997. He has lived in Wilsonville since 1991 and is employed as Chief Financial Officer of Orepac Building Products. The City Council appointed Michelle Ripple to the City Council on 11/21/05 to fill the unexpired term of Ms. Scott-Tabb. Councilor Ripple was elected to her first full term in 2006. Ms. Ripple was a member of the City's Development Review Board from August of 2001 until her appointment to the Council. She has also been active on the Advisory Committee for Master Planning. Ms. Ripple holds an Engineering degree from Rutgers University and is the owner of NW Automation and Control. She has been a resident of Wilsonville since 1997. The City Council appointed Celia Núñez in January 2007 to fill the unexpired term of Councilor Benny Holt. Councilor Núñez was elected to her first full term in 2009. Councilor Núñez was a member of the City’s Development Review board in 2006, until her appointment to the Council. She was a member of the Oregon Community Foundation’s Northern Willamette Valley Advisory Council for a decade, and a recent Fellow of the Portland Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Program. She currently serves as a board member of that organization. Councilor Núñez earned a B.A. and an M.B.A. from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon and serves on their Diversity Committee. Currently, she is a State Farm Agent in Newberg, Oregon, a member of Newberg Rotary, and a Fellow of Leadership Newberg through the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Hurst has served on the City’s Planning commission since 2005 and served as the Commission’s chair in 2008. Prior to serving on the Planning Commission he was a member of the City’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Councilor Hurst is a graduate of the University of Utah and has worked in Banking/Finance since 1989.
