The City of Wilsonville offers community garden plots to its residents.  Registration for garden plots begins on March 18th, 2010, with the garden opening after the soil is dry enough for tilling.  Registrations are accepted at the Community Center but must be done in person so you can select your plot.  The garden has 52 in-ground plots, 15 raised beds, on-site water, a compost area and is protected by a deer fence.

The garden is located down Schroeder Way just off Wilsonville Road.

Garden Rules and Expectations - 2010 Season

YOUR PLOT MUST BE FULLY UTILIZED.   Registration will begin on March 18th.  The garden will be tilled when soil conditions allow and open shortly there after.  If your plot remains unattended it may be reassigned.  Any plot that remains unattended (overgrown weeds, unharvested) for more than two weeks may be reassigned. Your plot fee will not be refunded.

NO INSECTICIDES OR HERBICIDES MAY BE USED. The Community Gardens are for organic gardening only. The use of insecticides made from synthetic chemical materials is strictly prohibited. Rotenone, pyrethrin, and Safer Soap are allowed only when used according to the label directions. Herbicides, or weed killers, are prohibited as well.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE OF SHARED PATHS ADJACENT TO YOUR PLOT. It is your responsibility to maintain your plot, as well as, ½ of the surrounding path. For safety, do not dig into main paths; keep paths level, rock free and wide enough for walking. Keep your own access paths fully within your own plot unless you agree to share them with your neighbor.

LOUD RADIOS ARE PROHIBITED IN THE GARDEN.

SMOKING IS PROHIBITED IN THE GARDENS.

TIRES ARE NOT ALLOWED AT THE SITE.

DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE GARDENS.

USE COMMON COURTESY. Do not expand your designated area beyond the limits staked out. Allow adequate space for invasive, vining and spreading crops and keep them confined to your own plot. Please do not allow plants to encroach into or overhang the paths. Please plan ahead so that you do not shade other plots with tall crops. No structures over 2 ½ feet are allowed except in common areas.

Please treat hoses carefully and wind them up and return to faucet site when finished watering. All water must be applied by hand. Sprinklers are not allowed. Be careful not to water other's plots without their permission.  If you will be out of town and need help watering or harvesting please make arrangements with a neighboring gardener.  Closely supervise your children when they are helping at your plot.

THERE IS NO GARBAGE SERVICE. Please keep trash and litter cleaned from your plot and take it home for disposal.

GARDEN CLOSURE.  The garden closes for the Winter on November 30th, 2010.  Please remove any non-tillable items (tomato cages, wooden stakes, plastic, etc) from the garden by this date.  Any plots that still contain these items will be charged a cleaning fee of $25.  Thanks for your cooperation!
