Active Lifestyles, Social Opportunities, Healthy Community

The City of Wilsonville’s Parks and Recreation Department consists of senior programs, adult and youth programs, special events, and parks planning and maintenance. This department was created in fall 2012, merging the Community Services Department and the parks maintenance function, which resided in the public works department. The purpose of the Parks and Recreation department is to promote healthy and active life styles for all individuals of all ages.

The department operates a Community Center, several picnic shelters, historic barn, skate park, dog park, sports fields, and parks. The department offers recreation programs to seniors, adults, and youth. The senior programs division provides activities for seniors, a daily lunch program and informal and referral services for those in need. The parks system includes 200 acres of park and open space with additional acreage planned for future growth.

The department provides support to the Parks and Recreation Board.
