The new Lowrie Primary School and all Wilsonville schools are opening September 4 for the first day of school.
The City and School District have worked together developing a Safe Routes to School plan for Lowrie Primary. Changes include permanent 20 mph speed limits on streets adjacent to the new school site, new crosswalks, new temporary sidewalks through Villebois East, and flashing lights designating a 20 mph school zone on portions of Barber Street and Costa Circle. School zone hours around Lowrie Primary School are 7:15 – 8:05 a.m., 10:15 – 11:45 a.m., and 1:45 – 2:40 p.m. Here is a

Parent drop off areas are in the main Lowrie Primary School parking area and along a portion of St. Moritz and Carinthia Circle. The streets bordering the school on the northwest, north, and east sides will be one-way clockwise
circulation only. On-street parking is allowed on the south side of Denmark, west side of Serenity Way, and both sides of Lisbon Street.
Kids walking to the new Lowrie Primary School will be guided by white dots on the sidewalk. Lowrie Primary School Principal Patrick Meigs thought of the idea to place markings and help ensure kids are using the safest routes while walking to and from school. School representatives would like foot traffic to be concentrated on a select number of safe routes generally extending out to Costa Circle to the west and Camelot/Evergreen to the south. City staff painted the five-inch diameter white dots to help children learn the safest way to school. All of the dots will be in place by the start of school.
