The City of Wilsonville is accepting public comment until 5 p.m. on Feb. 18, 2016, when the City Council is scheduled to conduct a 7 p.m. public hearing on a proposed solid-waste rate increase. The City’s solid-waste collection and disposal franchisee, Republic Services, Inc. of Clackamas and Washington Counties, is requesting a cumulative, system-wide rate increase of 4.4 percent effective March 1, 2016.
The questions before members of the City Council concern what amount of rate increase is appropriate and on what effective date? The City Council welcomes input on the proposed rate increase request.
Members of the public can review the City staff report and the proposed rate-increase proposal and may offer comments for City Council consideration online at www.ci.wilsonville.or.us/RateRequest.
Members of the public are also welcome to attend to testify in person at a public hearing scheduled for the City Council meeting on Thursday, Feb. 18, 7:00 p.m., at Wilsonville City Hall, 29799 SW Town Center Loop East, Wilsonville, OR 97070.
