Action Plan: The Next Three Years

Construct trails: New segments of the Ice Age-Tonquin Trail along Coffee Creek wetlands, near Morey’s Landing, and along Willamette Way East; upgrade the Memorial Park Nature Trail.

Fill gaps in the system: Construct new street connections that include bicycle and pedestrian facilities: Barber Street, Canyon Creek Road, Costa Circle, Villebois Drive, Kinsman Road.

Add bike lanes and sidewalks to existing roads: Tooze Road, Parkway Avenue, Grahams Ferry Road.

Repair and improve safety of existing facilities: Canyon Creek and Boeckman Creek trail repairs, ongoing trails and sidewalk maintenance, Waterfront Trail improvements, green bike lanes on Wilsonville Road near I-5.

Encourage walking and biking: Bicycle way-finding signage, Bike SMART and Walk SMART outreach and education, maintain and distribute bike and walking maps, Discover Wilsonville personalized trip planning, enforcement of traffic rules to protect pedestrians in crosswalks.

Plan for the future: Plan for citywide connectivity as Wilsonville grows, conduct annual bike/pedestrian counts, French Prairie Bicycle/Pedestrian and Emergency Bridge.

Seek outside funding: Apply for regional, state, and federal grants to fund a bicycle and pedestrian bridge over I-5 connecting Town Center Loop to Barber Street, a new Boeckman Creek Trail, and more Wilsonville Sunday Streets events.
